Our Staff
Is led by Peter Ward, an NHL scout for the Anaheim Ducks. He has over three decades of playing, coaching, developing, and scouting experience. Peter and his wife Ashley are published authors of the children’s book “Pat & Ash Play Pond Hockey”.
From 2021-22, Peter was the senior advisor to the coaching staff for Michigan State University Spartans (BIG10) hockey team. Peter is also a part of USA Hockey serving as a special assignment scout. Ward spent 2016- 2019 as the Head U.S. Scout for the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL. Before his time in Vegas, Peter spent the previous year working as an NHL Agent/Advisor for Newport Sports Management, Inc. (One of the largest and most successful agencies in professional sports.) Prior to working as an agent, Ward spent 8 years working for the U.S. National Team Development Program, serving as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel for three years and the Director of Player Personnel for 5 years. During his time with the NTDP, Peter helped the U.S. capture gold 6 times at the IIHF Under-18 Championships. He also identified and recruited over 150 NHL Draft picks including Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Matt & Brady Tkachuk, Quinn Hughes, Dylan Larkin, Zach Werenski, Charlie McAvoy, Tage Thompson, Clayton Keller, etc...

After serving as a scout and assistant coach for two different teams in the Eastern Junior Hockey League, Ward was named the U.S. Director of Scouting for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for two years. Ward skated professionally in the United States and Germany for 5 seasons. He played his college hockey for Siena College and his Junior hockey for the Matty O’Neil Lightning in the Eastern Junior Hockey League. Ward has directed some of the largest hockey camps in the U.S. including Pro Ambitions Hockey Camp & RB Hockey Schools.
Peter resides in Ann Arbor with his wife, Ashley, his son Triston, and their dog, Saint Patrick Bauer Scout Ward “Pat”.

Justin Michaelian - Lead Instructor / Player Development Mentor
Justin is finishing up his first full pro season splitting time between the Reading Royals of the ECHL & Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL). Justin played four years at Ferris State University (CCHA Division 1) and 5th year at the University of Maine (Hockey East). A Wixom native, Justin played his Junior hockey for the Victoria Grizzlies in the British Columbia Jr. A Hockey League, BCHL, where he recorded 67 points, 31G, 36A in 101 games. Justin also helped Victory Honda to a U18 Tier 1 State Championship in 2015-16.
Jenna “Tribs” Trubiano - Lead Instructor / Girl’s Director / Player Development Mentor
Coach Trubiano (New Baltimore, MI) is the head coach of the University of Michigan women’s hockey program (3rd season). Trubiano served as an assistant coach for two seasons (2018-2019; 2019-2020) with Michigan before being promoted to head coach in 2020. She is a 2017 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Health and Fitness. Coach Trubiano is a USA Hockey Level Four certified coach and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in December 2023 with a Master's in Business Administration. Before four seasons as both a forward and defenseman with the University of Michigan, she played for Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club in the Metro Detroit Area and attended USA Hockey National Player Development Camp (2011; St. Cloud, Minn). In her time with the Wolverines, she averaged 1.02 PPG (47G, 42A in 87 games played).
Coach Trubiano was elected 2023 CCWHA Coach of the Year by her peers and is involved with annual MAHA and USA Hockey selection events in Michigan.

Billy Powers brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Hockey Intelligence. 20 years as an Assistant Coach / 6 year as Assoc. Head Coach - University of Michigan. Recruited and developed 100’s of Division 1 players and Top NHL prospects. Currently in his 6th season scouting for the Calgary Flames. Former Philadelphia Flyers NHL draft pick ‘84. Brendon Michaelian - Defensive Specialist / Player Development Mentor
Brendon is in his first pro season with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. Brendon played college hockey for Mercyhurst University (Atlantic League D1) and Robert Morris University, Atlantic Hockey Division 1. He registered 6G, 6A for 12 points in 37 games. He skated in 28 games his Freshman season, blocking 37 shots, 5th most on the team, including a season-high four in the AHA semifinal game. Brendon served as team captain for the North American Hockey League’s Amarillo Bulls. He recorded 5G, 29A for 34 points his last year and accumulated 48 points in 115 regular season games. Brendon, like his twin brother Justin, played his youth hockey for Victory Honda, Tier 1 AAA
Noah Bradburn - Player Development Mentor
Noah recently finished his sophomore year at Davenport University playing on the ACHA D1 team. Before Davenport, Noah played two seasons of Junior Hockey for the Minnesota Moose in the USPHL, Elliot Lake Wildcats, and the Whitewater Kings of the NoJHL. Noah played all four years of high school hockey for Skyline High School in Ann Arbor where is the All-time leading goal scorer in Skyline’s history. During his time at Skyline, he was also voted 2nd team All-State, and 1st team All-Conference his Junior & Senior years.
Mike Ford - Player Development Mentor
Mike is a former professional hockey player who appeared in 265 games over 6 seasons with stops in the ECHL, UHL, Germany and United Kingdom. During his professional career, Mike racked up 118 goals and 211 points. Mike played his college hockey for Michigan State University (Division 1-CCHA) from 1995-1999. The former Spartan appeared in 107 games over four seasons. Mike lives in Ann Arbor with his son, Lleyton and his daughter, Ella-James
